Left: The gate of adventure. Bikaner 1987, Rajestan, India. Nina and I guided a camel-safari through the desert 300 km from Bikaner to Jaisalmer. It was wonderful to get beyond motor-travel for once.
Right: To reach the evocative figures of Nemrut Dagi, set on a summit overlooking the wild mountains of eastern Turkey was one of the great experiences on our Kurdistan journey 2003.
